i think they had gotten to elsewhere and in the book "he had saw the lights of blue and yellow and red the people that Celebrate love" pg : 225 chapter 23
ReplyDeleteI think you are wrong because it is very close describing the memory of love and he also probably died and before he died he saw his favorite memory then died💀
DeleteI think they didn't survive, personally when he was hearing/seeing things I am 99% sure he was hallucinating, I know it might be sad but they most likely died. Where did that sled come from; I don't think that someone would leave a sled in the middle of nowhere. Also when he heard the music. I could have been an echo as the book states.
DeleteI disagree, because the sled basically came out of Jonas' last part of his sledding and Christmas memories, with Gabe. The last parts of his memories with Gabe could have ran through his head as they died. (Also I think they might've died from hypothermia or starvation and Elsewhere could be like their heave)
DeleteI think that Jonas was hallucinating, as he already had the memory. Also, the hallucinations would be from severe hypothermia.
DeleteI think they survive because on the last page he sees lights. Also a sled was waiting for him, I don't think a sled would be waiting for him for nothing. pg. 225 "and all at once he could see lights, and he recognized them now." another line from pg. 224 " Jonas found the sled that was waiting for them at the top of the hill." this shows he saw lights and there was a sled awaiting for him.
ReplyDeleteI disagree because you have no proof and because i can disagree
DeleteI disagree because, that sled was most likely a hallucination because when you can get hypothermia you hallucinate.
Deletedaxni
Deletethat is true, but I don't think it was because he saw much more than just the sled.
I think that jonas and gabe survive because they both got on the sled so they didn't hallucinate that so the rest must have been real as well. The says " jonas felt himself losing consciousness and with his whole being willed himself to stay upright top the sled". This means that jonas didn't fall over because if he did fall over he would have felt it
ReplyDeleteI disagree because there is no proof that Jonas is not hallucinating due to hypothermia and died at the end. Also the next books in the series aren't even based on Jonas, the main character is some random girl.
DeleteYeah, he wasn't hallucinating, he was seeing the afterlife. He wasn't losing consciousness, he was dying. He saw the sled in the afterlife, he saw Gabriel in the afterlife, he has all of his memories in the afterlife. He was trying to stay alive on the sled, but failed. He sees and hears music and lights... In. The. Afterlife.
DeleteI disagree, because when Jonas and gabe got on the sled that was a memory from the giver. Do to the fact that he could barely walk, had no food, or water. I think they both died, also when Jonas and gabriel got on the sled I think was a hallucination making it the end of their life.
DeleteI think they survive because the givers family is the people in the memory that the giver gave jonas so what jonas sees is the givers family from the memory.
ReplyDeleteI disagree because you don't have real proof of what happened.
DeleteI think that because he already had the memory, he was remembering the memory of christmas and hallucinating, making him think that it was real.
Deleteoml no they didn´t because he saw ¨ snow ¨ when he escaped and but he wasn't prepared for the snow so she got really bad hypothermia and was having really bad hallucinations!
DeleteI believe that Jonas and Gabriel survive. To support this, Jonas talks about what he thinks is music even though the Giver did not give him the memory of music (as said in chapter 20), this could either be a hallucination from starvation or an actual sound he hears. Secondly, the sled. The odds of a sled happening to be there without any sign of civilization is pretty slim, this could mean that he reaches another community because somebody must have left it there. And lastly the chapter titled ¨Ever After¨ shows that Gabriel and Jonas do survive in another community.
ReplyDeleteThis is why believe that they survive.
I think he survived because it say "they were waiting for him; and they were waiting, too, for the baby." He says that with joy and certainty, so I think that maybe a family is below the hill that he can stay and live with. Also it says "He heard people singing," that could mean that could be the family talking/singing.
ReplyDeleteI think you are wrong because the lights could be Jonas and Gabe looking into the light of death, we also don't know who the people are, they could be angels welcoming them to heaven.
DeleteI think your wrong because maybe it was them walking to heaven not to a new world
DeleteThe hallucinations were real, but in the afterlife. The sled was waiting for him because he died.
DeleteI think Jonas and Gabriel are going to survive because they went to another community. So everything might be different there. They might not have releases. But when The Giver sheds his memories to the community, they might realize that they don't know everything and that everybody is not the same. Like, only people with pale eyes are certified to be the Giver. You also need to have Courage, Integrity, Intelligence and Wisdom. Jonas had all of them so he was certified to be the Giver. Being The Giver is hard because you need to keep the bad memories as well as the good ones. Jonas has experience handling the bad memories so I think they are going to end up Surviving.
ReplyDeleteI think that Jonas and Gabriel survived because on page 224 it states that "The runners sliced through the snow and the wind whipped at his face as they sped in a straight line through and incision that seemed to lead to the final destination, the place that he has always felt was waiting, the Elsewhere that held their future." So it says that at the end of the sled ride that elsewhere is waiting. Also on 225 it says "Suddenly he was aware with certainty and joy that below, ahead they were waiting for him."
ReplyDeleteOn page 225 it doesn't say that they were waiting to accept him into heaven. It just says that they were waiting for him. I believe that elsewhere is what was waiting for him, but it's your opinion that heaven was. It doesn't actually state that heaven was waiting for him.
Deletebut if jonas was holding him as he was hallucinating/ imagining the sled he would transfer the memory.
ReplyDeleteI agree

ReplyDeleteI think your wrong because how do you know he wasn't hallucinating when Jonas says that he could see lights, and people celebrating? Those lights could be him dreaming before he dies. Also why would there be a random sled at the top of the hill waiting for him?
ReplyDeleteThey are walking up what is up in the sky a place of rest for people that die
ReplyDeletei disagree with you because Jonas is starving and he is losing mermorys
