thay survive be I thing jonas is hallaciating the saet bcuse he is taerd and he is hallacting but he survives but he has bad mantel half
ReplyDeletewhat
DeleteIll tell you what lucas, hes saying that Jonas was hallucinating but still survived. And while I think this might be a good thery, Jonas defenently perished because usally if you are hallucinating, your already nearly dead.
DeleteI think that he was not hallucinating because he heard people singing and you gave no evidence that he survived so I still believe that he died . It never said that he has bad mental health and there is nothing to show it.
DeleteI think Jonas will survive because before he blacked out Jonas and Gabriel climbed on the sled and accelerated down a hill. Also before he blacked out he heard singing which means there is civilization that could help them. Hopefully that the sled is brisk enough to go down to the ¨ Village/town ¨ Which then they can help them.
ReplyDeleteNo the singing is not people it people who in heaven so he die
DeleteI disagree with you because when he was on the sled he said that he was going to elsewhere which means like heaven
DeleteI disagree because he has the odds against hes cold, has a bloody ankle and he blacks out at the end.
Deleteno
Deletehe die
Deleteelsewhere which means he in heaven and bloody ankle blood loss
DeleteI think Jonas and Gabriel will survive. In my Opinion the house in the background of the ending scene is going to be the place that Jonas will end up going to. These people will take in and help him with what he needs right now like a shower, food, warmth. This makes sense because at the end of the story Jonas said that in that house there were people there waiting for him, waiting to help him
ReplyDeleteQuote from the book: Downward, downward, faster and faster suddenly he was aware with certainty and joy that they were waiting for him

DeleteYes that does happens but the people was there to kill him for giving out the memories so the people was there to kill him.
Deletein the book the author says that jonas only heard an echo of a memory there were no actual people there to help him and gabriel plus he was losing consciousness so there was no way he and gabriel could have survived
DeleteI disagree, the book states there is music at the end that he can hear, which I think could be the music of heaven
DeleteI think Jonas was just being very loopy and then he died.
ReplyDeleteThe town was just a hallucination. Or he was seeing the afterlife. Regardless, hes probabluy dead eather way.
ReplyDeleteYes that is true that he hears people sing and playing music but at the direct end of the book the last line says that jonas thought it was just an echo of a memory so there was nobody really there he just felt music and since he fainted like you said he would be out in the cold with gabriel with no one to take care of the both of them so they will both die.
ReplyDeleteIv said it befor, and ill say it agen, Jonas is hallucinating! The town, the lights, the pepol none of them are there!
ReplyDeleteI think Gabriel and Jonas survived but in the book it says "jonas found himself losing conscious. So he basically just passed out `and was hallucinating
ReplyDeleteI disagree because he is going to elsewhere so that means he is going to die . Elsewhere is kind of like heaven
ReplyDeleteYes, fainting and falling asleep are, of coars, how you die in a snow storm. If you don't know that, now you do. never fall asleep in a snow storm.
ReplyDeleteJonas and Gaberiel don't survive becuase it says that he's feels himself losing consciousness and when you lose consciousness you may hallucinate so the music he had heard may have just been a hallucination becuase you may hear or see things that arnet real when you do. He also said himslef that he didnt even know if it was real or if the music was just and echo. it says this on page 225 last paragraph. "Behind him, across vast distances of space and time, from the place he had left, the hought he heard music too. But perhaps it was only an echo." Gabe would most likely not have survived if Jonas didn't becuase he is still young and he was showing that he was getting weaker earlier in the book. When Jonas lost consiousness he would not be able to support Gabe and would most likely have droped him so Gabe wouldn't have made it to elsewhere either and would have been left there alone to die.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he survived because on page 224 it says, "Jonas felt himself losing consciousness." and on page 225 it says, "Behind him, across vast distances of space and time, from the place he had left, he thought he heard music too. But perhaps it was only an echo." So I think that means he's dead and he is in a place where they celebrate love.
ReplyDeleteYes but in the book his only powers are to give and take memories and this in no way can allow him to sense people but only the memories that were made in that place or memories connected to what he was currently doing that were coming back to him so nobody was really coming it was just an echo of a memory that could not save him and gabriel from dying in the cold.
ReplyDeleteI think otherwise. In the book, it says "... the place that he had always felt was waiting, the Elsewhere that held their future and their past." This means that Jonas was going to elsewhere. Elsewhere is where the old and newborns go when they get released. In this community, when you are released, you are killed. So, this means that Jonas and Gabriel are going to Elsewhere, which in simpler terms means that they are dying. Also, I believe that the people singing and the music represented Jonas's community becoming whole. When Jonas went farther away from the community, the memories were transmitted to the people. Before Jonas left the community, the Giver told Jonas that music is a powerful and beautiful thing. Thus, when the community finally became whole, and everything was much better, Jonas heard music. The music told him without words that he had done his job and that he had helped the people of the community. So, after he heard the music, Jonas could die knowing that he had fulfilled his duty.
ReplyDeleteIt a maybe because the people can eat people
ReplyDeleteI disagree. When people are released they go to Elsewhere. Release means they die and so they go to Elsewhere when they die. When it says "... the place that he had always felt was waiting, the Elsewhere that held their future and their past." It means that Jonas and Gabe are going to Elsewhere.
ReplyDeletelisten hear me out his condition when he left them wasint good and do you actully think gaberil would survive and how would actully be living out ther and for adition were did they get thelights and how would have they made the house
ReplyDeleteThey don't survive becuase when you hallucanate you may hear or see things and Jonas said that he felt himself losing consioness and he may have began hallucanating he also says that he doesnt know if its real himself
ReplyDelete
