  1. I think that jonas and Gabriel did survive because it said in the book " they were red, blue, and yellow lights that twinkled" and they heard singing. so I think they entered another community

  2. When Jonas and Gabriel are going down the hill, they see colored lights and homes. It said it was places where families kept memories and celebrated love. The memory The Giver gave him of love was also in a house. I think when they get down the hill, Jonas loses consciousness but someone in the house finds him and Gabriel on the sled. It said, "Suddenly he was aware with certainty and joy that below, ahead, they were waiting for him; and that they were waiting too, for the baby.

  3. I think they survived because It says on page 224 that "felt was waiting, the Elsewhere that held their future and their past." I think that this tells us that there going to be ok and that they will survive. And also "Throughout vast distances of space and time." And it said the family was waiting for him. He gets to start over now.

  4. After Jonas and Gabriel sled down the hill, they began to see lights. He also saw lights of different colors shining. He knew that people were celebrating and having fun. In the text it says, "they were waiting for him; and that they were waiting , too, for the baby." People were waiting for Jonas and Gabriel. They had taken a long journey to get there, and it was destiny for them. Also at page 225 the text states, "Behind him, across vast distances of space and time, from the place he had left," I think that Jonas and Gabriel get to go back and restart.

  5. when Jonas and gabe were sliding down the hill. Jonas said heard music, saw lights and heard people singing. he also said they were waiting for him and the baby (Gabe). so I think that the people down at the bottom of the hill were waiting for Jonas and gabe, and once they got down the people saved them. a piece of evidence that I found about when I said he heard people sing was when Jonas said "he heard people singing".

  6. Jonas and Gabriel survived I know this because in the book it says that ¨...with his whole being willed himself to stay upright..¨ and I infer Jonas was having hallucinations. I know this because in the book it says ¨...he thought he heard music too. But perhaps it was only an echo.¨ ,you need to be alive to have hallucinations. That is why I infer Jonas and Gabriel survived.
