  1. The oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico exploded in 2011. The reason is because of a failure at the cement base of the 18,000-foot-deep well that was supposed to contain oil and gas. 11 workers were killed because of that, and a good thing to realize is to prepare for the worst and go the extra mile to make sure nothing bad happens. Like add more cement, and not have a giant explosion killing 11 people.

  2. 15 dollars an hour compared to 35 cents for three weeks of work, which sounds better. That is the difference between the economic state now versus The Great Depression. The Great Depression was an economic failure lasting from 1929 to 1939, and it was caused by a lot of reasons including unemployment rising, people pulling out of stocks, stock prices being a lot higher than they should have been, etc. During the great depression, a lot of high schoolers dropped out being 4/10 who aren't in school. A lot of high schoolers left their houses because they were too much of a financial burden on their family. This one group of teenagers did three weeks of farm work for 35 cents. Kids a little bit older than us would have to hop freight trains and always be thinking of a way to get their next meal. Next time you think that your life sucks you should look back to this time and be grateful for what you have because the life you have is just a fraction as hard as their life was.

  3. A lesson from the Vietnam War is that you can try to work things out before something bad like war happens. WWII happened 10 years before the Vietnam War, which is basically a short period of time. If people worked things out it wouldn't have got so bad or even bad at all. More than 2 million people died, and if that never happened there most likely could be more population right now.

  5. Czarism certainly was a bad way of ruling Imperial Russia. The majority of the population were Moderates, people who opposed the Czar, who was Nicholas II at the time. Under his rule, the economy became crippled, jobs were lost, and many people didn't have ideal living situations. Another big problem was that the people hated Czarina Alexandra fired many governmental officials with high authority because they opposed the idea of her and the Czar's rule. The people also weren't fans of Grigory Rasputin, Czarina Alexandra's advisor. He was the only person loyal to the rule of Czar Nicholas II, which is why Alexandra didn't fire him. Going slightly backwards in time here, Russia joined WWI with the Serbians, French, and British, who took down Nazi Germany. Although the Russians took down the corrupted country, it came with a large cost. The economy was practically nonexistent with all of the money they invested into the military. They invested around 22 billion Soviet rubles, leaving the wealth of the country in ruins. Not to mention the casualties were higher for Russia, a single country, than 2 or more countries in any other war combined. Thus leading to the Moderates killing Grigori Rasputin on December 30th, 1916, by a gunshot to the head after poison-laced food didn't have any effect on him. Then the February Revolution started, and Czar and Czarina were overthrown. What I think we should take home from this; the life lesson is that if the government isn't running your country properly, it is up to you and the people to correct them. If they don't listen, then you should overthrow the government and create a new, more efficient government.

  6. The great depression was a horrific time in history causing people to go into a panic. The stock market crash in 1929 led to severe unemployment which caused people to lose money. People went into panic because they had trust in the stock market. The panic caused stores to sell, creating black Thursday on 10/24/1929. 9,000 banks got shut down because people got greedy with their money and lost trust in banks. When something popular gets destroyed then people start to get greedy and selfish so they go into panic.

Covid was the worst thing of 2020 because everything came from it being in your house, stores closing, and online school. I thought that covid was just another version of the flu. Covid has the same symptoms as flu-like Coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, and high temperature. I thought covid was horrible in that many people got sick and because everything was closed.
Another reason why 2020 was horrible was that sports shut down like the NBA was shut down for a month.

In order to have a big power source they needed something to fuel it, but they did not have enough coal. The Soviet Government decided on a nuclear power station because they thought that it would be more efficient and cheaper. Because Chornobyl was a nuclear power station when unit four was destroyed the radiation from it could kill people within two-four weeks and twenty-eight out of the six-hundred workers died within the first four months. 11. In the neolithic era around 12,000 bc agriculture was set in stone for the many hunter-gatherers at the time. The fertile crescent was a hot spot for colonies to settle down because of the huge water supply. Mesopotamia was one of the more notable spots in the fertile crescent. This location was between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. This allowed the people of Mesopotamia to irrigate tons of water for their crops and animals. They were now not forced to chase their food and could settle. This caused a lot of trading, not only of items, but they dispersed their religion and culture too. When the people came together they changed the whole world, why cant we do this again and come to a state of peace.

Also there are weapons that potentially destroy society like the tank, improved artillery, portable machine guns, and grenades. World war 1 caused 16 million deaths, civilian and military alike. Not all deaths were caused by man, they were all so caused by influenza, trench foot, typhoid, trench fever. World war 1 was said to be the war to end all wars it did not but rather it changed all wars. If World war 1 caused 16 million deaths then how many deaths would a war today cause now that we have even more improved weaponry.
