  1. Did you know that more than one-third of America suffers from obesity? Obesity is a serious problem in our country and harms many people. Having obesity is when you have extra fat and take in more calories than you burn. "Pushing obesity as a new normal is not healthy for our minds or bodies" says Linda Valdez. Over the years people have been trying to normalize obesity ignoring how unhealthy it is. Obese woman and men have been put on magazines showing how everybody's body is perfect, and that shouldn't be happening. I'm not saying we should be putting unrealistic standards and edited bodies on magazines and on the internet, but I'm also not saying we should be normalizing having an obese unhealthy body with excessive fat.

This means people are objecting to the tweet and considering its content bad.Being overweight is now believed to help protect patients with an increasingly long list of medical problems, including pneumonia, burns, stroke, cancer, hypertension, and heart disease. So i would recommend fixing your hole thing because u just got out facted.

    2. Obesity is not a choice some people might a disease that might make you fat or obese such as Prader-Willi syndrome, Cushing syndrome both of these can make you gain weight and might lead to being obese. You said people should not be put on a magazine but they might be fat because of these thing and so you saying people should not be aware of diseases in the world and just because someone's fat they should not get do anything that's wrong just because someone's fat doesn't mean someone can't do something

    3. I understand what you are trying to say, but I must disagree when you say that people with obesity issues should not be put on magazine covers. Body positivity is very important because if we body shame people, it might eventually lead to confidence loss and depression. It is a cycle because depression can lead to people taking less care of their bodies, resulting in their health deteriorating even more. For many people, obesity can be traced to a medical cause, such as Prader-Willi syndrome, Cushing syndrome and other conditions. These conditions can lead to overweight and obese people, and they aren't completely responsible for how these conditions affect their bodies. Instead of body shaming people with obesity, we should try to promote body positivity and educate more people about how obesity might affect them and their lives in an attempt to prevent it.

  2. Does 10% of our world using one dollar and 50 cents to live off of a day sound good to you? According to the United Nations “The COVID-19 pandemic could increase global poverty by as much as half a billion people.” That is not a state we want the world to experience. The UN also stated that “In 2015, more than 736 million people lived below the international poverty line.” That outrageous amount is why our world is in immense danger. You might ask, “what is poverty?” Poverty is lack of income and resources needed to live your life. Poverty includes hunger, lack of proper nutrition, little education availability, and the need for any service. 42% of Subsaharan Africa still has a miserable amount of poverty. 10% of the world is in substandard poverty. Preposterous amount of poverty in 2030 will include over 160 million children. If we don’t want our future generations to live in this dreadful mess, we need to be aware of our actions.

  3. Does 80 minutes of giving attention sound like a lot to you? Well for me it can get boring and cause stress. “With the new model, students get a shorter day with less classes, but with that comes sitting through 80 minute classes, which are surely not ideal for teenagers’ attention spans.” Says Charles Calderone, this usually lead's to drifting off and not learning. “The 80 minute classes are just way too long… I can’t even focus through the first 30 minutes.” Parker Trobec former freshmen student said, but its not just the kids having stress and not being happy. From an outside perspective, teaching might seem like a much less stressful job than being a nurse or physician, but these statistics prove that wrong, According to a recent poll, 46% of teachers report high daily stress from planning and teaching this long of a class. Teachers were sent a form of the most emotions they felt when they teach/plan: the highest answers were anxious, fearful, worried, overwhelmed, and sad. These things were coming from staying up late and planning for an 80 minute class, they also got stress teaching the class of 25 or more kids. Teachers might include activities in class to keep kids and the teacher moving but it usually is not enough to keep kids focused.

  4. Are you against animal testing? If so, you are part of the 52% of the U.S population that is against animal testing. Animal testing occurs when humans experiment products on animals. The animals that are of use can include reptiles, rodents, and all types of different species. Animal testing includes forcefully burning animal skin, having the animals inhale toxic fumes, having them eat potentially deadly things, and putting stuff in their eyes, nose, food deprivation, etc. Former National Cancer Investiture states, "We have cured mice cancer for decades, and it simply hasn't worked on humans." On top of that, 5/6 of experiments dont work, so the animal testing is of no use. Over 100 million animals die each year due to animal testing related causes. This animal cruelty is not right, and there are so many different things that could be used instead.https://www.peta.org/issues/animals-used-for-experimentation/animals-used-experimentation-factsheets/animal-experiments-overview/

    1. Animal testing is not unethical. Animals are treated with care because malnourished testees aren't going to provide accurate results. Also, you say that there are so many different things that could be used instead of animals, but right now, there is no alternative. Federal laws allow animal testing to occur, even if some tests result in death, because it is necessary to develop life-saving vaccines and cancer treatments, and ultimately ends up doing more good than harm.

  5. Have you heard the myth that a women’s 78 cents are equal to a man’s dollar? Maybe you saw a feminist protest to fix it. People take the info they see/hear from the protests as their own without ¨taking into account a lot of choices that women and men make – education, years of experience and hours worked – that influence earnings.¨ I feel this is a problem because it causes a lot of misinformation to be spread. Some people who talk about this ¨epidemic¨ don’t think that people are in different positions. You can't expect a mediocre Mcdonald’s cooker to make as much money as the C.E.O. Everyone is in different positions. Everyone got to those positions a different way. In jobs, many things go into making money like knowledge, position, background, how hard you work, how you act, who you have as a boss, how many hours you work, where you work, etc. We can’t say the women in America simply get paid less because everyone is different. No man and woman are equal in everyone one of these categories.

  6. Have you ever been called a name that was really bad JUST because of your skin color? That’s called racism, and I’m here to tell you facts about it and why it is not okay. Racism was most likely dated back to when the first people came to earth. Or it could be years later, but let’s get to the topic.
People can use really bad words/phrases/slurs to take people down. Or it could turn into physical abuse if confrontation gets too bad between people/groups. People could also cyberbully (bully others online. Basically some social medias) and that can cause serious mental disorders like depression. It can hurt people's mental health.
When you think of Racism it’s mostly people bullying others for their skin color, but it could also be how others look too. If they have different hair that isn’t straight or if it doesn't look like everyone else's, how others like to dress, how they appear (Facial features, weight, any medical disorder(s), how they were raised/ brought up, and more. That could be described as just bullying but it is in the categories of racism.

  7. Social Media isnt the problem you are. Nowadays kids spent alot more time on their phone using social media but what does that mean? Social media is a neutral tool it could be used for bad or for good. Mostly everyone uses social media for bad especially children. Children can be easily swooned over pretty looking apps. "About half of parents of children ages 10 to 12 and 32% of parents of kids ages 7 to 9 reported their child used social media apps in the first six months of this year"-Cnn October 2021. But that doesnt mean Social Media is all bad, Social Media can be used to connect others and forge real relationships. But after all that mostly everyone had used Social Media Inappropriately. About 88% of teens had seen someone be mean or cruel to another people on a social networking site. But still Social Media isnt all bad you can still make friends or close bonds with people on it or maybe those online friendships can turn into real life friendships.

  8. Did you know that many US states have started and have officially blocked abortion care for women? 2021 alone has had the highest amount of abortion restrictions, in fact "The Guttmacher Institute, which tracks state-level abortion legislation, has marked 2021 as the most devastating state legislative session for abortion rights in history." One of the biggest restrictions was when Texas enforced the S.B 8 law which restricts abortion after six weeks of pregnancy and gives "any person" the right to sue anyone involved with the abortion after six weeks. "Dr. Sarah Horvath, a family planning fellow at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, said “Unless a woman is actively trying to get pregnant, she is unlikely to know that she is pregnant at six weeks.”

  9. Abortion has been a recently discussed issue globally and it is still illegal in some places around the world and could become illegal in the future. There is a countless amount of reasons as to why abortion should be legalized everywhere. First, it should be a woman choice what she wants to do with HER body and she should never let anyone tell her different. Next, in the case of rape a woman should be able to decide whether she wants to keep the child or not especially since she has to carry that child for 9 months with the knowledge that her rapist had given her that baby and that woman could have also been a minor which means she is probably not financially stable enough to raise the baby which then leads me into my next reason. Money, everyone needs money to survive and in some cases the woman might not have enough money to support herself and the baby, and it would be a lot cheaper to abort the baby then keep it. You would first have to buy the baby clothes, food then pay medical bills and child support. Just imagine what that childs future could look like? In other cases the woman might have to abort the baby due to health and/or medical issues which is common believe it or not. Then the woman could be suffering from mental health issues and then would definitely not be able to take care of the child. There is many more cases such as the woman might be a minor, the woman might not have a significant other to support her along the way and many, many more reasons. So if you are still wondering, can the baby feel it? The answer is no. The fetus can not feel any pain until the 24th week of pregnancy because it does not have the brain connections to do so.

In my opinion, I think they should teach cursive in schools because a lot of people use print now, and for most paperwork/documents you gotta use cursive for a signature for your name. Yes there is pollution but the paper is still better to write on, you don't always save money on an online document site or app. Kami has a paid version for better stuff to be able to use.

  13. Did you know where you work might only pay women around 82 cents whereas men get paid 1 dollar? It's a known fact that some companies only pay women for what they think they are worth, therefor women get paid by their race. For example, Native American women earn about 60 cents to a man's $1, and Latin women earn around 55 cents to a man's $1 in 2020. According to CNN “In total, a woman starting her career today loses an average of $406,280 to the wage gap in their lifetime.” Because of this, it is harder for women to get a house, insurance, etc. You must also factor in childcare. Women carry the burden of children which will cause future problems with their careers. "Women who choose to work fewer hours or need more flexibility, and that, too, is proving to be exacerbated in the pandemic" - New York Times. This is a few of many ways women in the working field suffer from the gender pay gap.

Strict parents push their children to reach higher standards. Strict parents are setting you up for the real world. As long as you live up to the standards, your parents will not punish you. 15. Peer pressure. Some words used to describe Peer pressure consist of, nasty, awful, unfortunate. It surely isn't challenging to think of more. What is peer pressure? When you do something because you want to feel accepted and valued by your peers. “A teenager’s brain is only about 80 percent developed,” says Gurinder Dabhia, MD, a pediatrician at Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo. “Teens have extra unconnected synapses in the area where risk assessment occurs, and this gets in the way of judgment. In addition, the prefrontal cortex is underdeveloped, which makes teens more sensitive to peer pressure and risky, impulsive behavior.” Impulsive behaviors eat away at a teens opportunities, and push them out of line. Think of a time you couldn't quite get rid of something, for example maybe a childhood toy. You love that toy and getting rid of it would affect your emotional state. now imagine that toy is a peer forcing peer pressure against you. You not only want to get rid of it, but you also need to get rid of it. but how could you, you're as stuck as a mouse in a mousetrap. That's peer pressure, and it doesn't feel good. How are you going to get out of this sticky situation? Maybe it's time to walk away from those negative peers and search for some new ones.

Overtime begins when two teams are tied at the end of the last quarter. There are two, ten-minute periods for the teams to try and score. The coinflip decides who gets the ball first, yet very often this decides the winner. The team that wins the coinflip and drives the ball down the field to score, ending the game as soon as the point is scored. "Imagine if baseball were to decide a League Championship Series game that progressed to extra innings by awarding a spot in the World Series to a team that scored a run in the top half of the 10th — without allowing the team in the field a turn at bat," DeCourcy wrote. "That’s what the NFL just did." Superbowl 51 is a great example of this. As overtime began, both teams were tied 28-28 after a coinflip happened the New England Patriots offense had the ball and the Atlanta Falcons defense on the field. The Falcons defense had been on the field for most of the game, tired and sweaty. The New England Patriots had won, and with the rules of overtime, the Atlanta Falcons had no chance to rebut.

The corruption of politicians has many side effects including instability of government, improper wealth distribution, and oligarchy, and I’m going to talk about one of them, wealth distribution. A major thing that increases improper wealth distribution is the rich not paying the same tax as other American citizens do. If everyone were to pay the same tax that would mean more money to the government to collect and then distribute to the citizens by paying for services that will help the people of that country. The constitutions of States have declared that every citizen has to have proper pay for their work. In 1980 meatpackers were being paid $24 per hour in 2018 they're being paid $14 per hour; they are being paid less and doing more work the companies that pay them are breaking the State's Constitutional law. Also manipulating immigrants so they can pay them less. The editorial board said ¨If income had kept pace with overall economic growth since 1970, Americans in the bottom 90 percent of the income distribution would be making an extra $12,000 per year, on average". Corrupt politicians that are being paid by corporations only help the people who pay them all for their own personal gain. Also by supporting their bribers they hurt the economy by sucking up all the money to give to their bribers for a small percentage.

Most people and kids don’t know much about vapes, like it also contains nicotine, a chemical that is used in normal cigarettes. Which is also the reason why you get addicted. Kids have developing brains until the age of 25, that means kids and young adults get addicted faster than adults with fully grown brains. Vaping can also affect the ability to pay attention and also affect the decision making part of the brain. It can also affect their growth and development and it can cause cardiovascular and lung problems, especially lung damage, because it contains heavy metals, volatile organic compounds and ultra-fine particles. So the only thing we can do is to spread awareness and educate people about this.

It has also been proven that it is easier to opt out of vaping when compared to smoking. Though vaping may contain "volatile" components as you mentioned, more people should be educated on smoking, which is more dangerous; than vaping.

  19. Here is my new paragraph, after I realized on Tuesday March 1st that I plagiarized over HALF of my original one:

Is gaming that bad? Most people say that “video games cause violence”, and are unsophisticated. But, that’s not true. A group of surgeons were put in a room and had to perform surgery. However, it wasn’t just random people, some of the people played video games and some didn’t. The entire point of the study was to see if playing video games benefits motor control in the hands and fingers. “In a study involving a group of surgeons, researchers found that those who played video games were faster at performing advanced procedures and made 37 percent fewer mistakes than those who didn’t.” Also, video games could increase gray matter in the brain. Gray matter helps with things like muscle control, memories, and spatial navigation. Well, studies show that people who play video games almost every day could increase gray matter in their brains. People who play video games could also have better social skills. “Past research involving children found that those who played more video games were more likely to have good social skills, perform better academically, and to have built better relationships with other students because of the social and collaborative component to some types of games.” Lastly, video games can trick you into learning new things. Game developers realized that they could use video games to give kids fun while also learning! Today, there are even more games that benefit real-world skills, like Cooking Simulator and other cooking games, Idle Supermarket Tycoon, and Planet Coaster.

This shows that video games have more down sides then good sides. People are getting affected by all these downsides and they are long term.

    2. Though video games may be fun and relaxing, playing these games has a tremendous effect on your behavior and health. A small amount of video games isn't harmful for your health, but there is a risk of getting addicted. You mentioned that video games can improve your hand-eye coordination. There are various other activities that can do the same, in an even healthier way. For example games with catching and throwing, working in the garden, puzzles, arts and crafts, and cooking are activities that improve hand-eye coordination. A study showed that playing a violent game led to more harming behavior. These risks are detrimental to one's health.

  20. Does 124 pounds of weight sound like a big difference to you? Well that's the difference between the strongest female deadlift vs the 100th strongest mans deadlift. An example of a former male competing in female powerlifting is Mary Gregory. She signed up for a local weightlifting competition and registered as female because that's what she identified as. She made a post on social media saying how she went nine for nine in the competition winning all the events. Later she was stripped of her medals because she joined the female tournament when she is biologically a male. Which goes against the rules which was pointed out by Paul Bossi who is the 100% Raw Powerlifting Federation President. Mary never said to the officials that she was biologically a male. There is a big difference in male in female sports not just powerlifting. Males are born stronger, and there are many studies conducted that show males outperform females in sports that require strength and endurance. Do you think it's fair for someone biologically stronger to compete against the opposite gender who is weaker than them.

    1. It is not fair that a biologically man, can join a competition because, men have stronger upper bodies than women. So, if a man joins a women's competition, while using a stronger upper body. That is why he/she deserved to have their title and medals stripped.

  21. Junk food is not as people think but I think it is bad. People think it's bad because People eat too much of it, But an average person should eat the amount of 500 calories of a snack per day. Kids/ Teens should eat an amount of 2 snacks per day (Not including Sports drink's and an Average parent should eat 3-5 snacks a day. But This quote can prove this Situation “Still, completely avoiding them may not be beneficial. Enjoying your favorite treat on occasion is a more healthful and sustainable approach for most people”. So you could eat it but Too much eating could cause cravings. Not all sugary drinks are good tho like soda and Juice, This quote from Healthline.com “A review of 32 studies found that for every serving of sugar-sweetened beverage consumed people gained 0.25–0.5 pounds” Proves that Sugary drinks aren't as good as sugary foods. The are alot of Virus and sickness that come from eating fast food regularly, Regularly eating fast food is bad and could cause heart disease and diabetes. In other countries like austrilia people adults cosmue 35% of there daily energy take and 41% of children energy take is junk food. Also children who eat fast food as a regular part of their diets consume more fat than those who do not eat fast food regularly. Processed food are bad like It has long been known that processed junk foods are bad because they tend to contain too much fat, salt, and sugar Also Junk food is everything that is processed no nutritional value.

  23. does flooding sound bad? Well, global warming causes that. Global warming does also cause glaciers to melt. Also sooner or later too much water can sink Florida so no Disney World. Also, global warming also raises the earth's temperature as the scientists from IPPC predict that globle tempature will go up by 2.5 to 10 deggres. There will also be more droughts happening around the world. Hurricanes will be more deadly. Precipitation will increase. It makes the seas warmer than they should. It also changes the earth’s weather patterns.

  24. Middle schoolers generally don't have anything to look forward to other than doing work, even outside of school sometimes. There's more additional work each year that constantly has to be done and no entertainment which is why I think there should be middle school recess. A response from an american assosation says that kids need “physical activity”. There are health benefits such as phisical health by exercising, mental health by reducing stress and anxiety. Other good benifits are cheerful moods and social skills by socializing with people. Students can be jittery and some cant focus without some type of fun. Studies from the center for disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that recess helps kids by improving their memory, attention, makes them more on task and taking away their disruptive behaviour.

  25. Don't just watch; help these poor puppies just abandoned on the side of the road, and help save these puppies from being abused and abandoned; Marie Sarantakis says" “If you don't like pictures of animal cruelty being posted on, social media, you need to help stop the cruelty not like it.” We should start to change the world by helping abused animals that are being hurt every day. Homicides have occurred just because of cockfights and dogfights. This is a big problem in the world. Even deaths are happening just because of dogfights and cockfights. They are male chickens placed in a cage to fight. The purpose for this is to fight for the primary purposes of gambling and entertainment. In one survey, 71% of family abuse victims said their abuser also hurt pets.; In investigation, researchers found out that people who abuse their child also found out that 88% of those families had pet abuse.
