“Listen to me, Jonas.  They can’t help it.  They know nothing.”

“You said that to me once before.”

“I said it because it’s true.  It’s the way they live.  It’s the life that was created for them.”

  1. Does four hours a day on a cell phone sound like a lot to you? Social media companies attempt to keep us online and exposed to the real customers of “free” social media: advertisers. “I feel tremendous guilt,” said Chamath Palihapitiya, a former Facebook executive, “I think we have created tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works.” Because we seek rewards, the platforms we engage in offer what is called intermittent reinforcements, the constant chance to be rewarded with something regardless of whether it actually happens; this is the goal of the ‘pull-to-refresh’ feature on social media. Modeled right from the same technique Youtube and Netflix use to keep viewers watching after a selection has ended, bottomless feeds eliminate stopping cues, keeping us on for longer. Social media companies even buy information about us based on anything we do online from companies like Experian, data collectors looking to profit despite any harm that could be caused.

  2. I think that people should stay home throughout this pandemic.I think this is safer. Covid - 19 spreads when people are closer whithin 6ft apart. Sometimes people who are sick will not show symptoms And covid-19 spreads more easily than influenza. It is better to stay home and keep everyone safe. This is how it spread in the first place.

  3. Did you know that you can get a cheaper master degree by doing online school? Academics have seen that the value in online school is good as inperson school just not the interatomic that people have in person school.2012 survey say that online school is just as good as inperson school, 77% of respondent. Now that it is 2021 there are new technology coming out. that a lot of school are letting kids go remote becuse of everything out there now. When you are in school you really don't have a flexible schedule. But when you are at home you do. Thats why i think that online school is slightly better then in person.

  4. What is big government? Is it bad?
A Bloomberg writer said "big government does not really help the little guy" What does that mean? Well, in the article it says that big government is not helping middle class people because of taxes and much more. Many people today think that less government means more freedom and that's why some people dislike big government. Also, many people feel like they are getting pulled into the idea of it. They feel like they need more control over themselves.

  6. During covid the racism to asians has gotten higher from previous years. For example attack on a 61 year old man with a box cover being slashed on the face.Another reason that covid has caused racism is former president trump repeatedly calling covid "the china virus" and "the kung-flu virus". Another example of a hate crime is a 64 year old Vietnamese grandmother assaulted and robbed of $1,000 in cash in a bank.Stereotypes also play a big role in racism.

  7. https://gameinpost.com/do-you-have-to-pay-to-play-online-on We pay 500 for the consles and 60 for the games so why do we have to pay 10.99(11 with tax) to play online? well the truth is it is all about the money.Playstation Plus is a subscription service that gives you free games the ability to upload save data to the cloud and the most important thing the to play online. The reason Lot's of people have it is because they scare you.Just the thought of not being able to upload your game date because of a crash or anything of the sorts. Also the thought of there being a game you want that is free for Playstation Plus members but you don't have a membership .Also a thing a thing that Sony does as a scare tactic is that a game you have gotten for free with Playstation Plus is only usable if you currently have Playstation Plus making the user constantly wanting to renew. And finally the online play. The thought of not being able to play online games with there friends scares them. Most users only play online and they have no point in playing if they can't play online. My personal opinion is that Playstation Plus is a scam. But I personally have Playstation Plus just because of the online play. But I do not like Playstation Plus in any way shape or form. I recommend If you don't wanna play online then don't waste your money on PlayStation Plus. But if you want to try it out for the first time go to your system settings and turn off auto renewal so It doesn't keep taking money from your bank account.

  8. Do you social distance or wear a mask when you go out? Many people don't understand how to social distance or don't think it's important. One way to stay safe is staying six feet away from anyone nearby. This will help stop the spreading if someone near you is sick. People can get sick from many different things. One of the main reasons is sneezing and coughing near other people. When you sneeze little particles of saliva travel in the air and could interact with someone else. A cough could travel up to six feet. Another way this virus could spread is shopping. Many people touch stuff in the store without even realizing it. If they are infected and they touch a product on the shelf their germs will most likely transfer to the next person who interacts with that item. You can keep yourself and others safe by washing your hands before and after you go into the store. You should also not touch your face until you have washed your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Most people feel like they are not having enough interaction with people. One way to solve this is to have a video call. A lot of people have been using video calls to interact with family and friends. Another way is to be in an open aired area. This could be a park, sidewalk, or even in front of your house. Just make sure you are social distancing. In the beginning of this pandemic many people said to not wear masks and save them for professionals Now it is mandatory in almost every store. A lot of people are making their own masks with cloth and a sewing machine.

  9. The most popular channel on youtube made a joke about deleting his channel. This is what Youtube needed to wake them up. In 2016, the dark ages came: The Adpocalypse, Edgy content was in full swing, The Viners had just migrated. But the true lifeblood of youtube; the advertisers. They have had enough, they want content that appeals to kids and is family-friendly. The content landscape of the time didn't allow that though, The advertisers pulled out, The Yellow dollar sign loomed over any content made. This can't happen again. “It’s not fair what they’re doing to us,” Danny yells. “It’s just not fair.” said content creator Danny Philippou, His content had been destroyed by the adpocalypse. His source of revenue gone, just because of kids making edgy jokes. Back to the great migration of 2016, when the Viner refugees came in droves. The advertisers knew the power they held, so they monetised that new vine content. Hoping they could get a quick buck out of the kid fans coming to youtube. Here we are today, past the adpocalypse and the Vine an Musicaly invasions, Youtube is walking a dark path. Creators can make content that doesn't appeal to kids, The new channel member and live donation systems allow creators to not need ads on their videos, They still make a fraction of what they would with ads, but it lets us have freedom in our content. express yourself, to express your monetizable self.

  10. People every day consume an unhealthy amount of junk food. Having an unhealthy diet can be very bad for you and can lead to many bad things. “In the United States, the top leading causes of death are related to chronic disease, which comes from having an unhealthy lifestyle,” says Alicia Galvin, a healthy diet promoter. People who have a poor diet can end up having many health issues in the future, such as chronic illnesses, mental health disorders, becoming obese, and more. “Over time, when you make healthy decisions about food, you are at a lower risk for cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and even anxiety and depression. You will have more energy, feel better, and may even be in a better mood on a daily basis,” says Samantha Heller, a senior clinical nutritionist. Having a healthy diet rich in vitamins and minerals can lead to having a lower risk for mental health disorders and decreasing the risk of an early death by any cause. You may be wondering what some healthy foods there are to start eating. Well, to have a healthier diet people should start eating fruits, vegtables, whole grains, legumes, and nuts and seeds. These types of foods will help to improve your diet by a lot. There are also different diets you can go on such as the DASH diet, MIND diet, vegetarian, and more. “What I promote to clients is a whole-foods diet, meaning, eat foods as close to their original form as possible,” says Alicia Galvin. Researchers had defined a healthy diet as "one that focuses on eating whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and fish." So when you have a healthy diet the outcomes of it are huge, yet when you have an unhealthy one the risks of health issues are also much higher.

  11. Did you ever realize how much of an impact we have on animals lives? From about 50 years ago, we have impacted animals lives. Good ways, yes, but also in not so good ways. We have caused so many animals to go extinct or become endangered, and for what? Studies show that in the near future, 1/3 of animals could be extinct. Imagine your kid going up to you asking what a tiger was, and where it went. We have polluted, and built homes in these animals homes. I have a feeling they don't like that. An estimated 50% of freshwater habitats have declined in the past 20 years. Very few species, such as rats and pigeons, can actually thrive in the environment we have created. Most animals would much rather have the fresh green leaves, then giant buildings and people roaming around what they used to be able to call home.

  12. Aww! Look at the lepord running back and forth! so cute right? actually no that is somthing called Zoochosis and it is actually very bad for the animal. Most of the time when animals get Zoochosis they become suicidle, and they start banging there heads agants the wall. "these behaviors, almost never occur in the wild.” Says Animal Madness. Did you think that zoos were there to help animals? Its actually the purpose of zoos is for humans and not for the animals. Animals can also become depressed.Animlas Madness states“In the Great Ape House, I watched Mandara, a 34-year-old female gorilla, as she sat with her back against the glass, facing away from the children gathered behind her.” These animlas are forced to live in enclosures that are way to small for them. Gus the polar bear was forced to live in a enclosure that was 0.00009 percent of what he would have lived in the wild. Animals are taken away from their familes to go live in zoos to repreduce. Animals Madness says “Tom, a gorilla featured in Animal Madness, was moved hundreds of miles away because he was a good genetic match for another zoo’s gorilla. At the new zoo, he was abused by the other gorillas and lost a third of his body weight.”

  13. Do you ever think that homework is useless and that you are wasting your time with it? Most of the time you are stressed by the pile of papers in front of you. A quote from procon.org says, "too much homework can be harmful" and that "There is a lack of evidence that homework helps younger children." A poll in California's results said that 59% of students think they have too much homework, and 82% said they were stressed because of their schoolwork. Alfie Kohn is a parenting/educational expert. He said that, "Kids should have a chance to just be kids and do things they enjoy." Another problem is that 41% of kids in the US have families that don't make a lot of money. That means that they might not have WiFi or access to a computer, or even paper and pencils. The last problem I have is that "Fourth grade students who did no homework got roughly the same score on the National Assessment of Educational Progress as those who did 30 minutes of homework a night. Students who did 45 minutes of homework a night actually did worse." All of this proves that homework might be a bad thing.

  14. Do you think the criminal justice system is fair? African Americans have been treated poorly because of their skin color and the way they look. In the website Naacp, they say "One out of every three Black boys born today can expect to be sentenced to prison". This is highly wrong and it needs to change. Black African Americans can't walk along the streets without looking "suspicious" to the police. According to Statista sixteen black people have already been killed because of their race in 2021. Racism has been going down , but it's still here and it needs to end.

  16. Climate change is a very dangerous thing, as I’m sure you know already. But, many people seem to forget how unfathomably disastrous it could be if left unchecked. As the temperature rises there will be dozens of consequences, such as longer fire seasons and more droughts. Crop failures will occur and could lead to a food shortage! But that’s not all, Climate change won’t only affect the land, as ice melts water levels will see a dramatic increase and disastrous hurricanes, which used to only happen every 100 years, now arrive every 16! Last but not least, many animals and plants could go extinct due to climate change! A study done by the Union of Concerned Scientists states that, “Only a small amount of warming will kill 70 to 90 percent of the world’s coral reefs; up to half of plant and animal species in the world’s most naturally rich areas could face extinction.”

  17. “I don’t know. We’re getting into the realm of what’s incomprehensible,” she says. “How about a football stadium filled with plastic every day? Or enough plastic to cover Rhode Island” said Jenna Jambeck. That's how much plastic is in our ocean. Jenna Jambeck, the University of Georgia engineering professor who calculated that also came up with a vivid analogy to put it in context. “It would be the equivalent of one dump truck tipping a load of plastic into the ocean every minute every day for a year.” Studies show that plastic piping is on the rise because the middle class is growing. Another study shows that pollution is also on the rise due to not enough people recycling and people polluting more than people are cleaning. The less we try the more animals die and that throws off the food chain. Global warming is one of the results of pollution and making animals migrate too early or too late. But it is not too late to stop pollution. One way to cut back on pollution is to recycle. It may seem useless because if you don't recycle it won’t make a difference but if everyone recycles then that would cut back pollution tremendously.

  19. Have you ever felt stressed and overwhelmed? Constant signs of stress and moodiness can lead down a path to teen depression. San Diego University professor Jean Twenge reveals that five times as many teens are dealing with depression-related issues than those observed in the Great Depression. Every 100 minutes a teen feels so pressured that they commit suicide. Recently, teen depression and suicide have become more prominent than ever. Things like bullying, relationships, tests, pressure from family, abuse, and neglect are the leading causes of depression. The path down this mental illness includes low self-esteem, sadness and hopelessness, and substance abuse. In many worst-case scenarios, teens don't know how to escape and resort to taking their own life. The alarming truth is, many parents and teachers are unaware of the mental health conditions of teens. Instead, they need to periodically check in on kids, make sure they're loved, and regularly take them to hospitals and centers where they can be treated. Adults need to be more active in kids' lives to prevent issues like depression from happening.

  20. Did you know 182 million people in Africa can't read or write? One in three adults in Africa can't read. That is a huge percentage of the people in Africa. This is due to a poor education system. A huge percentage of schools in Africa don't have access to materials that make it easier and more efficient to learn, such as, electricity and potable water.

  21. Have you ever had a pair of Jordans or Nikes? with a grow in people having interest in rare kicks and increasing problem of online bots auto-copping all the best releases, we ask if resellers are ruining the sneakerhead game. a sneakerhead said,
“Personally, I wish less sneakers were instantly snatched up by those looking to make a quick profit, but I understand the argument isn’t that simple, and I urge you to think for yourself what you feel about the matter”. With big hype labels Supreme, A-COLD-WALL*, and HUF selling parts of their companies to investors, It make sense that sneaker are next on the auction block.I think that there is a good and bad to sneaker reselling. The bad is the people can just buy it from the store but people buy them from people who resell at a higher cost. One of the biggest sites for sneaker shopping is GOAT. with 11 million users on it selling shoes, a year ago only 2.5 million users on it.the shoe supply increase by 550k.
