What could be a possible message from “Wild Things” that we could apply to our own lives? In other words, what advice might the song be trying to offer us? Be sure to include at least two lines from the song to support your conclusions (you may look back at the lyrics as often as you like).

  1. The message in the song “WIld Things” in my eyes is to be yourself, to rebel against the trends, to let your true colors show, and to fly your own flag. Some examples of this are when the lyrics read “We don’t care what they say, no way, no way,” And “Gather all the rebels now, we’ll rebel-rouse and sing aloud,” The writer/singer is telling the listener to become an image of their own, not of others. To be yourself, not to try and fit in with the crowd, but to be different, be your own image. To become yourself, and not someone else.

    1. Great job Robert I honestly thought that is an amazing message. I completely agree with the message that you need to be yourself and don't change that, and I think you did a good job supporting your thoughts with amazing detail. You supported your interpretation of the songs message with two lines of great supporting detail.

  2. The message of this part of the song is to always have the final thought and don't let people tell you what to do."Don't want to hang around the in-crowd."This section says to be yourself."so hey, we brought our drums and this how we dance." The message as a sum up of the song is to enjoy life as you would want it.

  3. Based on what was heard in this song I believe that Alessia is saying it's okay to be yourself. Lyrics like, "No mistaken, we make our breaks if you don't like our 808's, then leave us alone." Another line I believe that shows the message of this song is, "We have no apologies for being..." These specific lyrics are saying do not apologize for being yourself. You shouldn't be worrying about what people think or want of you. Be out of the ordinary and do not stick to the status quo.

  4. A message we can apply to our own lives from Wild Things are that you are cool just the way you are and you don't need to change for anyone. A line to support that is “If you don't like our 808s than leave us alone” another one is “The cool kids aren't cool to me they're not cooler than we are.”

    1. Alex i think you have the lesson from the song right because i agree with your lyrics to the song such as “if you don't like our 808’s leave us alone”. The other line that i agree with you is “the cool kids aren't cool to me they're not cooler than we are”. Really good job Alex describing the lesson and really good line.

  5. The message in the song "Wild Things" is telling us you shouldn't change for someone else. If someone doesn't like you for you, you shouldn't change your mental/ physical appearances for them. Two lines from the song that support this are,"This is how we dance." And "We will leave the empty chairs to those who say we cant sit there. We're fine all by ourselves."

  6. I think the message of the song Wild Things, by Alessia Cara, is trying to spread is be yourself. I have two lines from the song that support this allegation. One line is “ The cool kids aren’t cool to me They’re not as cool as we are” Meaning I like my friends and you can’t change that. Another line to support my accusation is “ We have no apologies for being” I infer that the end of this line is “we have no apologies for being different”

  7. In my opinion i feel like the woman who wrote the song is trying her best to say that, she doesn't care what other people think about her, and that she wants to be different from every one else. You can see this point in the lines "I'd Rather be a wild one instead" and "Find you're great, don't you hide your face".

    1. I she wants to tell people to care about what people think you only need to listen to yourself and yourself only. She made it clear that other peoples opinion should not bother you.

  8. The song "Wild Things" has a message that can and should be applied to our everyday lives. The message is to be confident with yourself and not care for others opinions. The artist, Alessia Cara, gives plenty of examples of this through out the song. First she says "The cool kids aren't cool to me," shes saying just because those certain people are thought to be cool by others doesn't mean she agree's. Also she says "We will leave the empty chairs to those who say we can't sit there." She means they're not going to leave out people that aren't nice to her. So they can sit with her whenever they want even though they decided she can't sit with them. These are just two of the songs many examples to take the high road, be yourself, and never let people tell you what to think.

    1. I think this interpretation is really accurate. It makes a lot of sense with the lyrics and it proves what you believe the song is about. I believe that the interpretation is a strong one because you proved that the song was about being confident by explaining what the lines mean. You made your point very nicely.

  9. The song "Wild Things" are telling us that we shouldn't back down and to be brave and not to be scared and not to let yourself down. For an example it say's "The cool kids aren't cool to me" and it says "They're not cooler than we are" it also say's "Find your great" and it say's "Don't you hide your face let it shine, shine, shine". In conclusion this shows what the song the "Wild Things" are telling us.

    1. Hey Alex. Your message is really good and I like the way that you said "not to let yourself down." That made me think that you want the reader to think of the positive side of things. I believe that this is a strong interpretation to me because it makes anyone who reads it feel better.

  10. In this song, there was a strong message Alessia Cara wanted us to learn and try to add to our own lives. I think that the message was that we need to be our own person. We shouldn’t let other people gain too much control over our lives. Personality is something we should be showing off and improving, not tucking away and ignoring. Two lines that help me support this are:
“Then leave us alone, ‘cause we don’t need your policies.”
“I’d rather be a wild one instead.”

  11. The song “Wild Things” by Alessia Cara gives us some good advice that we should take in life. This song might be telling us to be ourselves and not have anyone tell you how to be. Also don’t change for anyone. Here is a line that says be who you are, do what you want to do and don’t care what anyone says, “ We don’t care what they say no way, no way.” Here is another line that means don’t apologize or feel bad for being who you are, “We have no apologizes for being.” So be who you are and don’t change.

  12. I believe that the message in "Wild Things" is you need to be confident. A line that I chose is “The cool kids aren’t cool to me, they’re not cooler than we are.” Another line is “Find your great, don’t you hide your face.” Both of these lines show that you can and need to be confident.

  13. The song Wild Things by Alessia Cara has a message for everyone out in the world. How will you ever feel like embracing yourself when your true self is stuck inside of you, ready to burst out? Loving to be yourself should be a personal matter but why even care about that, when others don't even have the right to judge you? You are perfect just the way you are, there is no need to change that. "Find you're great, don't hide your face. Let it shine, shine, shine..." This was sung by Cara, it tells you to love and embrace your wild self. Society doesn't need any civilized, perfect beings because being wild is perfect enough. When Cara sings "Find me where the Wild Things are," she's calling herself wild and she has joined with the ones who aren't afraid to show that they are truly wild too. Just by being themselves. The ones seen cool in society do not seem cool to her. We are all different in our own ways, even you might notice some things. This is what it means to be yourself, to be wild.

  14. I think that one of the messages of the song is to be yourself and not to let others entirely mold what you think of yourself. I think this because of one of the lyrics. It says, “We will care our place into time and space.” Another lyric I think supports my idea, is, ”So gather all the rebels now, we’ll rebel-rouse and sing aloud. We don't care what they say no way, no way”

  15. One possible message from this songs's lyrics is be your self. The reason why is because in the lyrics it said " Let em sell what they are sellin', there are no buyers here." Which means don't do what other people are doing because they do it, but instead do what your going to do because you want to do it. Another line is "We don't care what they say no way, no way." Which also means don't care about what other people have to say about you, but care about what you have to say about you. That is why one possible message from these lyrics is, be your self.

  16. ‘I lose my balance on the eggshells you tell me to tread, I’d rather be a wild one instead’
This is a line from a song called ‘Wild Things’ written by Alessia Cara and I believe that it has a message that many people can follow if they are in this predicament and are unhappy with the way it’s going. What I get from these two lines is that Alessia was unhappy in this (probably popular) group and she wanted out. She was sick and tired of being careful of what to say and do around these people, so instead Alessia went and joined another group that didn’t care about what she said or did. In that group she could just be herself and she was happy. So if you aren’t happy with your current ‘friend’ circle because they judge you and tell you to act a certain way, well then you don’t need them, make new friends who you can be yourself around them and they make you happy.

    1. I like your interpretation on the song Kat! I have a different point of view on the song, but your meaning is strong because it has a good message on what the song could actually be meaning. Telling people to leave the people behind who are making them feel negative is a good interpretation, especially for this song!
I think the song is about Alessia telling people to not follow typical day trends and just be yourself. One line is 'The cool kids aren't cool to me, they aren't cooler than we are."
So, she's basically saying just because people follow typical day trends, it doesn't mean they are cool. She is saying for people to follow their own rules and practice what they preach instead of following other people and what they do.

  17. We live in a world where people are insecure about themselves, and are constantly trying to fit in and change. A song called “Wild Things” by Alessia Cara recently came out. This song’s lyrics send out a message telling you that you don’t have to change for anyone or any reason. One line from the songs says “We have no apologies for being” which says you do not have to apologize for being yourself. “Don’t you hide your face”, another line from the song, says don’t hide who you are, do your own thing and don’t be ashamed of it.

Have you ever listened to the song the wild things by Alessia Cara. Well I think the message of the song is that be yourself and you don't have to change your personality just to fit in with the crowd."Don't hide let it face shine, shine, shine, shine, shine, shine. Which means if you believe in your self-esteem then people will come to you because their intrigued by your confidence. "The cool kids aren't cool to me" I think means make your own crowd don't change yourself to impress the cool kids. In conclusion, believe in yourself and don't try to change your personality just to fit in let your talent shine.

  19. The message in the song Wild things song is:
Not everyone will think you're the best but you don't have to think that the cool kids are cool or the best. "The cool kids aren't cool to me"
"Then leave us alone cause we don't need your policies" The kids who don't get noticed as much should just be themselves.

  20. There some people out there that feel bad about themselves. And they can't change that thought. So the fact that the song “wild things”by alessia cara, destroyed that thought from people's minds. And let yourself shine!! Believe in who you were born to be. Don't hide your personality or your character, just be you! Don't even think about who will tear you down if they do , keep your head up!!

The lines that inspired me was “find your great don't you hide your face let it shine…”
And “lose my balance on these eggshells you tell me to tread,i'd rather be a wild one”

  21. I think that the message of the wild things is to be yourself and not care what other people think about you and try and paint your own image and try not to follow the beaten path “So hey, we brought our drum and this is how we dance No mistakin', we make our breaks, if you don't like our 808s Then leave us alone, 'cause we don't need your policies We have no apologies for being Find me where the wild things are” I think it's saying try and be you don't care what they think about you.

    1. Good job James. I like this message a lot, because everyone is always so focused on trying to be someone they are not, just to get people's approval, and the truth is that a lot of us have to remember to be ourselves, no matter what other people think of you.

  23. The possible message from the song "wild things" by Alessia Cara that we could apply to our own lives is that we as people should make our own path and that we don't have to be or blend in with everybody else. Alessia Cara says "the cool kids aren't cool to me... They're not cooler than we are." When I heard that, I realized that people aren't just cool because everyone says or thinks they're cool. Those people are cool if you think they're cool. I don't have to have the same opinion as everyone else because we are all different but, at the same time it's not bad to have the same opinion. I feel like Alessia is saying that if I think that i'm cool or cooler then someone than I am and that you don't have to listen to other people's negativity.
