Lesson is to do things slow
ReplyDeleteThe great depression was America's financial darkest times with the stock markets crashing, more than 50% of the population was either in debt or flat out broke, and it wasn't just a weekend stock market crash, it lasted for ten years causing Thousands of people to die. Times eventually got so bad that people had to live in cardboard houses to survive. And the cause of this? Banks rushed to put deposits with a small chance of major gain, at the price of the stock market and Amaricas financial stability.
A main conflict could be is a character that loses everything during the Great Depression and he tries to get everything he had back but could succeed or fail.
DeleteOne conflict for this piece is people fighting bankruptcy.
DeleteA suggestion for a character's sound of emotions could be a hard worker that has a soft spot in their heart.
DeleteHi Julien the Goon Master88 (sigh), I think your main character should be a homeless mom who is struggling to feed her children, so she pickpockets people to by food.
DeleteI think your story could be possibly a banker, who has to deal with the fact that he had played a role in the great depression.
DeleteI'm going to be talking about the twin towers. There were 4 plains 2 hit the twin towers 1 hit the pentagon one crashed. In total there were 2,977 killed from 93 nations. In the towers 4,000 people survived. It took people ten months to clean up the debris. More than 1,100 bodys were missing and are still missing to this day. More than 343 firefighters died, the ones who survived most had illnesses. The north tower fell first after the attack. There were 110 floors in the towers. It cost about $1.5 billion to clean up the debris. About 8 paramedics died on duty that day. The ground burned for about 99 days after the attack. Most Family's got $1.8 billion for being in 9/11. About five other buildings were destroyed when the towers fell.
ReplyDeleteFor your conflict, you could do a worker trying to escape the tower they are working in.
DeleteYour conflict could be alternating perspectives between characters in different places during the event, and all of them are struggling. For example, one person could be in one of the towers, one could be a firefighter, and one person could be on one of the planes.
DeleteFor your conflict Lucas, you could make the main character with his parent on the North Tower and they get separated when the plane hits the tower. After the attacks, they reunite with each other.
DeleteYou should have a little girl that decided to go to work with her mom today. She should be complaining and having fits the whole time she's with her mom.
DeleteA character's look of emotions could be rattled because of seeing people jump out of the towers.
DeleteWomen's suffrage from 1776 till the 1920s was harsh. Women were fighting for their freedom of speech, the right to vote, and to be equal with men. Women were also not allowed to leave the house as they pleased. Women had to stay home with the children and had to cook and clean before the man got home. Women as a whole spent decades fighting for equality between women and men. Eventually in the 1920s women had their own voice and freedoms in the political system. Even though it's been 104 years scents women got their freedom of speech. Still to this day women don't have the same rights and abilities as men.
ReplyDeleteI think a possible conflict could be how a woman could want to do something and get caught outside of the house, and then has to deal with the punishments if there were some.
DeleteFor your main conflict you should have a woman that was in a relationship and fought for her rights until eventually she went to the white house and had a protest there.
DeleteYour character can experience fighting for freedom so men and women can be equal. She can have a stand toward Freedom of Speech.
DeleteYour main character's conflict could be a regular protester for women's rights. And fighting wit her controlling husband
DeleteA main character idea you could have is a very determined women who knows that women's suffrage is not right. The story could go through times until 1920's when women earned their rights and she helped them earn their rights.
DeleteHi anonymous, I'm doing a story that is somewhat similar to yours (but more recent and modern). I think that your protagonist should be a housewife that (somehow) sneaks out at night and gathers with other housewives to protest their suffrage.
DeleteAnne Frank was a little girl that was a Jew during the holocaust (1941) she had to hide in the annex until the holocaust was over. They didn't make it that long and were put in Bergen belsen concentration camp. The dad otto frank made it out alive and made Anne journal be published. I think bravery would suit this time period because the Franks and every other Jew had to be brave when entering the camps and knowing that they can die at any moment.
ReplyDeleteI think that a possible main conflict for this story about Anne Frank could be her perspective during the scary time she was in. Or it could be her dad, Otto, after Anne dies.
DeleteI think that the main conflict of this story could be Anne Frank's dad Otto Frank dealing with the loss of his daughter.
DeleteI think you could try the perspectives of all Franks and share their different views of the experience and the grief that they share when their loved ones die one by one. You could choose the dad which made it out alive and share his experiences and grief after seeing Anne dies.
DeleteAnne Frank was a girl in the holocaust and she was brave because the author said people who survived was brave for what they had to go through.
DeleteI think you can go into detail of how sad and what Ann's dad Otto Frank had to do to survive.
DeleteThere should be a dog that's dirty and hurt and Anne helps the dog to get better.
DeleteThe Great Depression was a severe worldwide economic depression that took place mostly during the 1930s, beginning in the United States. It was the longest, deepest, and most widespread depression of the 20th century. Key factors contributing to the Great Depression included the stock market crash of 1929, overproduction, high levels of debt, and banking panics. The Depression had devastating effects on individuals, families, and communities, leading to widespread unemployment, poverty, and hardship. Government intervention and programs such as the New Deal were implemented to help alleviate the economic crisis. The Great Depression had a lasting impact on economic policies, social welfare systems, and the overall mindset of the American people. The Great Depression serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of economic systems and the importance of prudent financial management. It teaches us the value of resilience, adaptability, and community support during times of hardship. By learning from the mistakes and consequences of the past, we can strive to build a more stable and equitable society that prioritizes sustainable economic practices and social safety nets to protect individuals and families in times of crisis.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could do a character struggling during the Great Depression.
DeleteThe conflict was the people against the inflated economy and try to make it better so people wouldnt be in debt and have to file bankruptcy.
DeleteA main conflict could be a character trying their best to survive during the great depression.
DeleteYour character could wear dirtys clothes, broken boots, and they should be an Irish person with hair that's red.
DeleteYour character could wear clothes with holes in them slides no socks dirty hair and smelling bad if there depressed they wouldnt care for anything they have to do.
DeleteThe vietnam war was one of America's most brutal and worthless wars with ignorance being shown throughout the whole thing. America sent hundreds of thousands of soldiers to the boobytrap ridden jungles of vietnam to die for no cause. There were thousands of booby traps delivering fatal blows or extreme pain to the victim. The Americans couldn't even do much against the viet cong because of their deadly guerilla tactics. The viet cong had thousands of miles of underground tunnels causing the Americans to feel like they were fighting ghosts. Just to stop Vietnam from becoming a communist country.
ReplyDeleteI think a main conflict could be that many people were dying and the war needed to stop
Deletehave the main character be in a superstitious unit in the army or have a personal connection to vetnam.
DeleteI think the conflict could be people suffering from the war.
DeleteAn appearance for your characters can have old and torn clothes. A conversation that your characters can have is talking gibberish, or using bad English.
DeleteYour character could be a young american with a southern accent and who is from Georgia. They could live on a farm too.
DeleteThe main character could be one of the American soldiers wearing an olive-green uniform with dirt on his face who hasn't eaten in a long time.
DeleteDuring world war two there were many problems. Multiple forms of death, sicknesses, injuries, and more. These wouldn’t happen if the wars never started. Think about it for a second will you? Some of these problems are caused do to lack of food, water and polluted air. These wouldn’t happen if wars weren’t happening. Also this tends to use a lot of money and can cost a certain amount of land. An example of statistics is that in the Battle of Britain or BoB. In this specific battle about 80 million people died do to the bombs. This number is exceeding the charts and nothing should ever be that high of a death count.
ReplyDeleteI think a main conflict could be the character experiences lots of death.
DeleteI think the conflict could be how people survived this war and what happened to them after.
DeleteThe main conflict could be about a character struggling during world war two.
Deletethere should've a scrawny boy that has some sort of asthma or other disease of that magnitude that was drafted into the army and has no will to live.
DeleteThe main character in this story could be very dirty with old, torn up clothes.
DeleteEven when it seems like it's too hard to go on, you just need to persevere. On February 14th a former student shot up Parkland high school. 17 people were killed and 17 were injured. Many kids and staff had to persevere while watching their students, friends, and teachers die. Many still persevere through life with survivors' guilt. Valentine's day should be an enjoyable fun holiday but for many families, students, teachers, and staff who were involved in the Parkland shooting it will forever be a day of grief and loss that they still persevere through to this day.
ReplyDeleteA main conflict could be your character has trauma that they try to get over.
DeleteThe main conflict could be a character trying to get over their survivors guilt.
DeleteYou can find a character that saw people getting killed and how they felt.
DeleteI think one of the main characters could be a student in the classroom experiencing the shooting. You could use dialogue to show a conversation that the student is having with another, to show the fear of the students.
DeleteWhat you could do is how a teacher lost one of her favorite kids and how she regretted, and got into her head of how she could've saved the kid. And then she can't deal with going to school anymore.
DeleteDuring the Apollo 11 moon landing, around 650 million people were watching the rocket live on television. This just shows how big of a moment and how popular this moon landing was. It was the first time an astronaut has ever walked on the moon. It took the Apollo 11 rocket ship 4 days to get to the moon before they stepped foot on the surface. Neil Armstrong was the first person on the Apollo 11 mission to actually step foot on the moon. As Armstrong stepped on the moon, he said the famous quote, “That's one small step for a man, one leap for mankind.” After the trip to the moon, I think the lesson everybody can learn is that humans can accomplish anything.
ReplyDeleteA character could be someone that worked at NASA, and made the equation for the rocket taking off.
DeleteA conflict could be the problems one of the workers encounters as they're creating the Apollo 11.
DeleteMaybe you could do a character that is an astronaut on the Apollo 11. They could be very serious and not have emotions. They could talk very straightforwardly and seriously.
DeleteThe main character could be an astronaut on the rocket with Neil Armstrong. They would speak using scientific terms, but also use an excited tone since they finally reached the moon.
DeleteA character could be someone at home, watching the landing for the first time.
DeleteOn September 11, 2001 a national tragedy occurred. 19 different terrorists were in on an operation to hijack four different commercial airplanes and crash them into significant American buildings. Two of these planes hit the Twin Towers in New York causing them to collapse. Another plane hit the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. causing 135 people to lose their lives on impact, and the last plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. However, people believed that the last plane was supposed to crash into the White House, but fortunately because of passenger interference, that part of the plan failed. Although, due to this event nearly 3,000 people lost their lives. This includes, everyone on the four planes (even the terrorists), over 400 first responders, and 2,753 people in New York. This event caused many Americans to come together to mourn the losses of lives, and to support those affected by the tragedy. A lesson that can be taken away from this event is that we are stronger and can get through anything if we come together.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a good conflict would be a person inside the North Tower and is trying to escape from the tower during the attacks.
DeleteYou could make the main character that was working in the twin towers and follow him through the plane crash and trying to escape the destruction.
DeleteA good conflict could be one of the passengers that interfered on the last plane.
DeleteThe main character could be in one of the towers and have dust on them and be injured. The main character can be sad or angry and want to get out of of the tower.
DeleteThe beginning of the dinosaur age existed way before there were people and modern cities . Some were big, some were small. Herbivores ate plants and Carnivores ate meat. The different eras were Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous. The lesson that can be learned from this time is survival of the fittest. Only the strong and the smart survive. Dinosaurs had to protect themselves to survive everyday.
ReplyDeleteFor your conflict, you could do the perspective of a dinosaur during their life and the struggles they face on a daily basis.
DeleteA character could be a dinosaur, who tries to survive the challenges of everyday life in the Cretaceous, I chose the Cretaceous because it has the most variety of challenges and predators in the Mesozoic Era.
DeleteI think that a main conflict for this story could be a smart dinosaur trying to survive. But, he has to deal with a lot of tough struggles throughout the story.
DeleteLike I have said, your main character could be a dinosaur growing up in the mesozoic and surviving a drought or blizzard while still getting hunted.
DeleteI think the conflict should be the struggle to find food.
DeleteOne of the conflicts could someone that is very dumb getting through the Mesozoic Era
DeleteEquality is something we think about everyday, whether we recognize it or not. After Japan bombed Pearl Harbor In the 1940s, Japanese people were forced from their homes and into prison camps. The government was suspicious of Japanese spies, so they imprisoned anyone of that ethnicity on the entire West Coast. Spies from many other regions were found, but their ethnicity was never imprisoned. Japanese people, no matter what age, what job, or who you were, you were seen as the enemy.
ReplyDeleteA main conflict could be how a child is forced into a prison camp after their parents were suspected to be spies.
DeleteI think a possible conflict is that you could do a old person like a grandma. Then they have to live on there on there own sense their family got taken away.
DeleteA main character could be a Japanese American boy who's dad is in the Air force along with his friend who is American who's dad is also in Air Force. After the attacks, people mistreat him but his friend sticks up for him. The Japanese American boy gets sent to a camp but then reunites with his friend after the war. You could describe his behavior and reaction from the way people are mistreating him through narrations and body language.

ReplyDeleteThe time frame of 1939 to 1945 was classified as the Holocaust. This is a time when the Nazis were taking over Europe, and discriminating against jews, criminals of war, religious opposers, and many others. The Nazis had built concentration camps. These were meant to put jews and other war criminals to work. They also had death camps which had the sole purpose of killing Jews, and other detested people. During this time period people were separated from their family, and most likely never saw them again Jews worked so hard, and some worked till death all waiting for a sliver of hope that they could escape. One lesson we can learn from the holocaust is that patience and hard work pays off.
A main conflict could be your character to work so hard in hopes of getting out of the concentration camp and the character could be let down or possibly escape.
DeleteFor the look and sound of your emotions, they should be very depressing and somber. This is because of what is happening to the Jews.
DeleteYour character could try to survive the concentration camps with the hope that him and his family would all eventually be free.
DeleteThe Battle of Okinawa was a battle of pride, victory, and freedom, yet also a battle of shame, loss, and imprisonment. The Battle of Okinawa, and every other war or battle that has been fought, has given humanity one lesson to be learned that should be applied to the future: no more war. In just three months, 240,000 people had lost their lives on Okinawa, and half of those deaths were deaths of inhabitants of the island. The last stand of the Japanese in Okinawa was on a small ridge called hacksaw ridge, and in the 11 day battle on the ridge, over 3,000 people had lost their lives. Additionally, thousands of aircraft had been lost, and dozens of ships had sunken in Okinawa. Overall, the Battle of Okinawa is ranked as one of the deadliest battles in history, and the deadliest battle in the pacific. If humanity wants to become successful as a civilization, we need to apply what we have learned and stop all wars before it is too late.
ReplyDeleteA main conflict could be when a American Soldier invading Okinawa bumps into a Okinawan boy and they have a fight. The American Solider wins, but then feels bad for killing the younger boy.
DeleteA suggestion for the conflict is the loss in war and in trust.
DeleteA suggestion for a character is a soldier drafted into the war at a very young age. Maybe he could have an optimistic attitude. Maybe he could have very formal clothes.
DeleteA character for this story could be someone having to see everyone around them die while they drive to find a safe place to go. They could wear rugged clothes.
DeleteBefore the Uvalde Elementary School shooting, warning signs were ignored. The shooter's social media accounts raised concerns just days before the incident. On Twitter, they posted messages like "Only a few more days till the big day" and "This would be all over the news." Even though some considered these messages harmless, the shooter had been preparing for the attack by acquiring ammunition, gun accessories, and a bulletproof vest. Ramos, the shooter, sought attention and fame but ended up losing their life and taking innocent lives. The investigation revealed issues with the Uvalde Police Department's response, including communication, crowd-related challenges, and officers lacking the correct keys. But the problem was systemic, not individual. This tragedy underscores the importance of identifying warning signs and addressing potential threats promptly to prevent such devastating events.
ReplyDeleteA conflict for this story could have two points of views. Maybe half of the story would be a worried parent, and the other half could be a student trying to survive the attack.
DeleteOne conflict could be people fighting the losses of there loved ones.
DeleteYour character could be a student in the in the elementary school who was shot but survived the shooting. He/She would tell her story. You could describe the character through dialogue and narrations for showing her emotions during the shooting.

ReplyDeleteOn Memorial Day, 1921, four unknowns were exhumed from an American cemetery in France. The four were placed in identical caskets and placed before a highly decorated WWI veteran tasked with selecting one of the caskets for burial in Arlington National Cemetery. That person was U.S. Army Sergeant Edward F. Younger The Unknown Soldiers represent all missing and unknown service members who served and made the ultimate sacrificeThe men who fought and died for their country, that the rest of us might live, were heroes. They deserve to be honored, especially the unknown ones like him we were honoring today.
I would argue that the conflict is Edward F Younger against the Germans.
DeleteOn May 4th, 1970, a protest was held by students registered at Kent State University. The protest was forwarded to oppose the expanding involvement of the Vietnam War into Cambodia by the United States military forces as well as protesting the National Guard presence on campus and the draft. As the protest continued guards took a stand in front of Taylor Hall and Prentice Hall where the protest took place. At 12:20 guns shot out from guards and hit 4 students also injuring 9 students as well as paralyzing a student, Dean Kahler, from spine injury during the accident. Two 19-year-olds, William Schroeder and Allison Krause, and two 20-year-olds Jeffrey Miller and Sandra Scheuer were the 4 students that were killed in the duration of just 13 seconds. All of this affected universities around the world, 100+ while students went on strike around the world. R.O.T.C. offices were burnt down as well as representing “officers off campus.” I think that the lesson from this part of history could be understanding why and paying more attention to campuses and awareness.
ReplyDelete-Vivienne Forman
I think that a possible main character could be the officers because that is one of the main conflicts in this piece of history.
DeleteHi Vivienne, I think the conflict in your story should maybe be about the government and students fighting about whether or not there should be officers on campus (government says yes, students say no).
DeleteYour character could be a student in the protest. They could be wearing casual clothes and standing next to one of the people who died in the protest.
DeleteI think that the man conflict is people taking their anger out on other people.
DeleteYour character could be one of the parents of the students in the protest. They could be talking to the parents of one of the 19-year-olds who shot in the protest.
DeleteDuring the Medieval times, a plague occurred. This is none other than the Bubonic Plague. About five years into the Bubonic Plague, over twenty million people died, and around one thousand villages vanished. Due to the plague spreading rapidly, there was no water to clean clothes, which mainly caused fleas to attract, which fleas are one of the main causes of the Bubonic Plague. Even though Mongol traders may have started this plague, It is only just a theory that people during the Medieval caught on to, and blamed mostly all of the problem on them. Most surgeons were in fact illiterate, and couldn’t find any cure, and didn’t know what was the main problem of this cause, but still managed to become a surgeon to help treat patients during the Bubonic Plague. Just because you may have caused something, doesn’t mean you actually caused all of it. Just because you may not be capable of doing something one hundred percent, doesn’t mean you can not do it at all.
ReplyDeleteThe main character's mom dies from the plague. Then the main character becomes a doctor and has to save everyone from the plague.
Deletethis is a really interesting topic and this could be good as a story In a second person a family member could get the plague but you have fear of self preservation. having an internal conflict between helping the family member and not getting the plague. the family members could die and be named mort (the french word for death) (it could be in france).
DeleteAn appearance for your characters can have clothes that are dirty and old. The behavior can have hunched shoulders and looking depressed.
DeleteThe main character is dirty and sick from the plague. The main character's behavior could be optimistic or not optimistic.
DeleteThe polio epidemic was a significant point in history that changed lives forever. Polio, or poliomyelitis, is a flu-like disease with a twist that can deeply sicken and even paralyze the person who catches it. It was very easy to become infected, so cities closed public places such as schools, swimming pools, movie theaters, and even churches. Many parents isolated their children out of fear of the virus. Those who survived the crippling paralysis were forced to use wheelchairs and leg braces due to their deformed legs. Hospitals were flooded with cases of polio, mostly in children. Polio made such a huge impact on society that a 1952 survey showed that people feared only nuclear annihilation more than polio, so I think that the lesson of the polio pandemic is to overcome fear as it is dangerous and powerful.
ReplyDeleteA possible character can have a sickening disease like polio, and have to experience it for his/her whole life.
DeleteA conflict that could be your story is someone in the 1950s, possibly seeing people have polio; and maybe even they could have polio.
Deletethere should be a nurse talking about the cruel working conditions.
DeleteYou could make your character have an optimistic attitude towards their conflicts. Like instead of giving up, you could show them finding the bright side in this dark period of time.
DeleteIt was april,14 1912 I was aboard one of the finest ships of its kind.I was one of the engineers on board and was dozing off,I was still worried because a week ago I heard the news that the right front hull of the ship was a little weak, but our captain said,¨We cannot one of the finest ships in the land and be behind schedule¨.I would have said something but he was a bimbo I was alone in my thoughts when I heard a loud crash it sent the ship rocking.I hopped out of ed like a bunny my thoughts racing through my head like they were a racetrack.I sprinted outside and onto the deck people were screeching I quickly headed to the bottom floor where me and my team were. The ship lost power and the room was filling up with freezing water. We knew in that moment we had to sacrifice ourselves to help other people,we all nodded running I could hear worried dads saying,¨BOY!¨.I scurried to the switches we all knew our jobs I was able to pump the breaker back on I would have to put one hand in my shirt to keep both of them from getting hyperthermia.I could feel my heart bumping. We were able to get the power back on we were able to keep the power on for as long as we could but then one guy fell to the floor we knew he was dead to the cold everyone then one by one dropped to the floor.I whimpered in fear of death but then I knew it was over the power than went out and I thought of my family before I blacked out.I was happy to know that me and my team saved hundreds of lives than the water filled the room and it sank and I knew I did my job.
ReplyDeleteHi LizardSnake, I suggest that a conflict for your story could be that one of your protagonist's family members either dies on the ship trip or falls of the ship and drowns. I can't really say much because I don't know what you're researching...
DeleteI think the conflict is the loss of others.
DeleteI think one of the characters could be the boy on the boat. He should be wearing a nice suit because he is on such a fancy boat.
DeleteHow did the character or team feel before, during or after the event?
DeleteAll the engineers died but saves alot of people and its a real story
Deleteits titanic
Delete9/11 was a terrorist attack planned out and directed by Osama Bin Laden. Passengers on the plane were threatened with bombs and weapons by the hijackers. Four planes were hijacked and flown into buildings. Two planes in each of the Twin Towers and one in the Pentagon. The fourth one was taken control over by the passengers who fought back to the hijackers. Everybody on the planes died due to the crashes, especially the hijackers. 25,000 people escaped while 2,600 people died in the Twin Towers. 20 people were found in the rubble of the twin towers. Osama Bin Laden claims to plan this attack to convince the U.S. to withdraw from the Muslim world. It is very wrong what the terrorist did, and should have never planned this attack.
